Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM) is a production process used to 3D print or repair metal parts. WAAM is executed by depositing layers of metal on top of each other, until a desired 3d shape is created. WAAM technology is using wire as raw material, the contact point between wire and base part is melting point and by continuous adding of wire in special positions, the base part will repair or a new geometry will manufacture on it. This technology is using for performing local repairs on damaged or worn components, and to manufacture round components and pressure vessels. However, the advent of high quality computer aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) software has made AM in general possible, with WAAM, in particular, being an area of significant development.
